As you approach the park, the magnificent snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro becomes visible, providing one of Africa’s most iconic safari backdrops.

After arriving at your mid-range lodge or tented camp, enjoy lunch and some time to relax before heading out on your first afternoon game drive.

Amboseli’s open plains make wildlife easy to spot, and you may encounter large elephant herds, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, and possibly lions.

Full-Day Amboseli National Park Safari

Begin the day with an early morning game drive when wildlife is most active and Mount Kilimanjaro is often visible before clouds gather later in the day.

This is the best time to photograph elephants walking across the plains with the mountain rising dramatically in the background.

Your guide will take you through different parts of the park, including marshlands where hippos, buffalo, and numerous bird species gather.

After breakfast and a short rest at the lodge, head out again for more wildlife exploration.

Amboseli is renowned for its large elephant families that have been studied by conservationists for decades.

Afternoon game drives may reveal predators such as lions or cheetahs as well as giraffes and antelope species grazing across the savannah.

Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation.
